Into the Wild Dialectual Journal
Pg. 18 ?Sometimes he tried to hard to make sense of the world, to figure out why people were bad to each other so often.? When Westerberg describes Alex in this way, it immediately showed me the type of person he was. There are two generic types of people in the world; the type who don?t question anything about the society they live in, and the type of people who can?t think enough about it. Because Alex would ask himself questions that had no answer, he would tear himself apart about it. I believe this is why Alex was so unhappy living in the modern world. Some people can accept the unknown and others can?t. Pg. 30 ?And he was big-time hungry. Hungry, hungry, hungry. But real happy.?
