Placing gummy bears into an unknown solution in order to differentiate between hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic solutions. Gummy Bear Lab Experiment West Broward High School Biology 1 Honors Submitted by: Anabel Vazquez Blk#4 October 6, 2015 Problem: Are the gummy bears hypertonic, hypotonic, or isotonic to the unknown solution? Research: Hypertonic means that the inside of the gummy bear has a lower concentration of water molecules than the solution, causing water to enter the gummy bear. Hypotonic means that the inside of the gummy bear has a higher concentration of water molecules than the solution, causing water to leave the gummy bear.
