Buddhism was used, like many Asian dynasties. They had protective spirits for the Princes competeing. Connections grew with Central Asian/Indian people. ltural influences and religious identities stayed strong. The Tang had good water/transportaion, which somewhat led to building a huge canal. Government disliked Monasteries because they were loss of Chinese culture. Military depended on greatly due to expansion, the rebels got wiped out and the north moved to the south.
