Relax. That’s something someone should tell you and who better than me? You might not understand what I referred to earlier. I was referring to the stress-causer, anxiety producer, and most important scary process known as: THE COLLEGE APP. Yikes, just reading that gave me the creeps. Seniors of 010 your in for a long and difficult race, may the best racer win and may all of the racers get to the goal sound and safe.
Now, I am a current High School Senior and I might be one of the person that understands the mix feelings one might feel this year. However, let not your feelings guide you; rather let your brain, passion, and senses guide you through this difficult task. Do your best, you will need to. This year is probably going to be the most competitive ever, I mean come on after all we are all the class of 2010 ( what I mean to say is that we are DA SHITZ, and we are the smartest alive), and the most difficult one to get financial aid, for those in need. I know this, I am going through desperate times and try to avoid the worst. Thankfully enough I’ve got supporting parents and I know that everything will end up as it has to. It just seems that way.
This entry topic will last about an entire year, well, because it is obvious that it is impossible to write ONE blog entry and one only, about the whole application process.
Now, I do not intend to call myself the all knowing dude of the application process, whoever if you insist on calling me this than what else should I do than accepts this; however, I do know plenty about the application process. See the thing is that I have two older brothers in college, one a entering senior the other a entering sophomore. That’s a big thing for an international citizen, like me. I have been able to view and learn from past errors, flaws, certainties, etc. In short I have learned plenty about applications and financial aid forms. To say the least and in the most modest form, my mom masters it all.
Tips for the week. So, you’re about a month away from starting possibly the best year of your life. However, do not forget that live continues even after High School (YES I SAID IT!). That being said you should definitely start with your college search and know roughly to how many schools you are applying to. Another thing you should definitely do is starts with the application! I know that the Common app goes online in July. What I don’t know however (one of the very few things) is when it does come out. At least start with the essays and get your SAT scores ready. If the scores aren’t high enough than think about re-taking the SAT. Try to plan out the entire semester and get those essays ready and done before school starts! I promise that the more you do this summer break the less you’ll have to stress and worry during school year. If you are an international student than you should probably think about taking the TOEFL. GET EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO BY THE START OF SCHOOL!
The best from the half down of the earth!
CM ;)
OH NO! Not this shitty process! Kill ME!! :)
