You're going to have a lot on your plate throughout the school year and you need to have some sort of method to remember everything, be it test dates or study group reminders. A combination dry erase/cork board is the must have reminder school supply. While it might not actually be an item that you take with you to school every day, it's nonetheless of great importance.
