The Second Golden Rule of Fashion

The second golden rule almost comes naturally after the first. As you become more confident, you’ll find that the many conceived colors today will become more and more appealing- but wait! This is not time to panic because you’re inexperienced, don’t be afraid. BE VERY NOT AFRAID! Here are some tips:

1. Look at yourself in the mirror and decide what ‘season’ you might belong to. Confused? Here’ list:
- Blonde with light brown/ashy highlights belongs in spring. Dirt blondes may have a little winter in them.
- Red heads are autumn and so are pure golden heads, sometimes paired with summer.
- Brunettes with red coloring are summers.
- And Black haired people are winter.

2. What does this all mean?

-Springs look good in light toned colors, meaning pastels. Baby pink, off white, lavender, baby blue and such are just a few examples.

-Summer is like thinking of ‘Earth’ or ‘Nature.’ The trick is natural colors. This means thinking of things like green (that’s your green), the Sun (something like butter yellow), and red with hints of orange. The possibilities are almost endless!

-The third season autumn immediately brings to mind of fiery colors. This is almost the opposite of winter colors. For example, brown is the preferred neutral of autumns rather than black and colors with gold undertones bring out life. An apricot is a great example as opposed to the fruit peach. The dark shade of blue of the sky is also preferred.

-Winter. Winters are versatile. But the colors that make you stand out are vibrant. This means the ‘pure’ form of any color. Black and white is your neutral colors, blood red, emerald green, hot pink and so on and so forth. Here’s a tip: Try a hot pink shirt underneath a black v-neck or scooped shirt/ sweater and black skirt- it’ll make your skin pop and draw attention to your classy style!

Here are my last minute tips:
-When in doubt, periwinkle and aquamarine looks good on almost anyone!
- Wear brown if you don’t want to be noticed, as it is a neutral color and just lets you fa..de.

There are many possibilities, and often people can pull off looks from different seasons like spring/winter, spring/summer, autumn/summer etc! Ultimately don’t fret! As you search for your colors, you’ll be naturally drawn to those that look good on you and even if you know a color’s not quite the best for you and you like it anyways, it can’t hurt to have one or two in your closet! After all the trick to colors is this: Have fun with it!
