How to beat the economy...

In our present-day economy, no field of service is untouched, especially education. With a down economy, budget cuts are paramount, and education has always been the first choice to drain needed money from, resulting in an education that is only a fraction of what it should be. In my own personal experience, my school has always suffered budget cuts, bringing down the value of education in an extra competitive environment. This paradoxical relationship is awkward for students to deal with. Should students decide that education is important when the government sees it as nothing, especially since they always take money from it?
Education is important; there is no question about that. Whether or not one chooses to pursue a job that may require a degree or not, it is important have that degree in case unfortunate situations may occur. A down economy further ruins this situation, causing even greater cuts. Students should persevere through this situation regardless, hoping for a better future, and by using manipulation.
One of the greatest things to do is to become friends with your counselor. Being friends with them can result in a lot of favoritism, as wrong as that sounds. Not only can they provide you with extra aide, they can also provide you with a lot of information regarding your future classes.
There have also been many program cuts in a lot of cities and schools. The best thing to do is fund raise money and to try to revive these programs, or appeal the popularity of the aforementioned programs. Starting your own program is also a great idea; not only does this allow you to get your desired program, but it also gives you another reason to appeal to colleges. You now get a chance to prove your leadership and initiative.
My personal policy is that there is always an unseen benefit. Using this philosophy, you can use the recession to your advantage, accentuating your positive qualities.
