How to prevent STRESS!

Sep 17, 2009

Stress is common in the lives of teens. Especially during your junior/ senior years of high school. There are several ways you can deal with stress in a calm manner. The most important rule is to take one step at a time.

One of the many pressures include school and homework. To make homework and studying less stressful:
a) Find a quiet or good environment to do it in.
b) Do one thing at a time, make a To Do List and maybe give each homework a time frame so you can complete it all on time.
c) Have a little snack or something every time you finish something on your list.

Everything may feel very crammed and you might often feel that there isn't enough time in the day to finish all your errands and tasks, but if you chill out and take it slowly, you can accomplish more.

Everyone loves to be an all-rounder and being actively involved is never a bad thing. But if your in 13 different clubs, 4 sports, and all AP classes, you might want to consider lightening the load. Sometimes trying to do everything is what causes a lot of stress and you can't always do everything at once. You need to know your priorities. In fact, colleges like it better when you are fully dedicated to a decent amount of things rather than trying to do everything once.

Trying to fit into the crowd or stay "in" your group of friends is always a big issue in high school. People want to be involved and know things around them. Drama and gossip might be "stupid" but people still take part in it so they can keep there reputation or maybe increase it. But if getting caught in drama is wasting your time, why bother? In 10 years, you might be friends with 2 of the 30 people and will have a life of your own. Why risk ruining your grades to try to fit in. If your grades get worse it will only add more stress onto your daily lives.
