Alright, so I'm not really into the whole blog thing, but we have one, so I figured I'd write since apparently the other staff members are (haha, there's the sign this one isn't about peer pressure). Anyhow, I don't have a theme in mind, so I'll just be doing random things, because random things are awesome. So today I'm gonna take the risk of sounding corny, cliche, and like one of those commercials on pbs (*sigh*) and give you guys some advice I've learned over the past few years. When dealing with high school and college and trying to figure out what you want to do and who you want to be with and how you're going to pay the bills and everything else there is to worry about it's easy to get caught up with all your responsibilities that all you can see is the goal. After going for...well, let's not worry about the time...after living in auto pilot I've come to realize how important it is to live for yourself. After all, it's not all about the destination, the journey is just as important, if not more. The end does not always justify the means. Yeah, pbs special, don't say I didn't warn you. But really think about it, if you work yourself hard and you attain your goal, but in doing so, you've made yourself miserable, what good have you done yourself? So, my advice to you! There are lots of things to influence your choices in school and life in general: parents, society, friends, money, the economy, etc. Take some guidance from the sources that you trust and are close to you, but make sure that you're doing something you'll enjoy. Why do something if it doesn't make you happy? Sure, we all do things that are tedious and boring at times. But at the end of they day there has to be something to make you feel good about yourself. Okay, I think I got a bit off-track...or am going in circles... I'll just wrap it up! Basically you have to make your own decisions, and do what's right for you. No one else can tell you exactly what's right for you. Feel free to take advice, but ultimately it's your life, so live it on your terms.
