Summer is a time of "catch up." It gives you time to do everything you put aside during the school year. It is important to be aware of this extra time and take advantage of it. Many students use this time to get ahead in school and prepare for the upcoming year. For example, many use summer as a time to study for the SATs. Some are signed up for classes or have a tutor, while others prefer to study on their own. Apart from this, many use summertime to read a good book they could not during the year, or go to a sports camp.

School is tough. Anybody can tell you that. The hard question is how to overcome all of the stresses from school and our daily lives. Well, everyone is different and handles situations in a unique matter. For example, some people are organized and are able to relieve themselves from many stressful situations. Others do everything at the last minute. No matter what way you handle school and other daily activities, it is imperative to have a method of coping with life's stresses.

How do you get the most out of your summer? Do you stay at home and relax or take classes to get ahead in school? Though both options sound rather good, it is important to note that summer is a time to relax but not forget about school. In most schools, summer work is assigned. Now, a lot of students wait until the last minute of summer to complete the assignments. To get the most out of summer it may be a good idea to pace yourself and start at the beginning of summer. Then, by the end of summer you will be close to done if not completely finished.

Everyone has their own way of studying and using this website is an awesome way to clarify and further remember the material. My strategy was to first read the chapter I was being tested on. Then, I read the outline, for that particular chapter, found on this website. After reading the outline, I found that I was able to better remember the chapter, as well as understand anything that had confused me earlier. Also, I had found important ideas that I had missed while reading the chapter, when I read the outlines.

As I look around, I notice high students everywhere stressed over college and grades. They have been stressed not only about finals, AP exams and regular tests, but also on their summer plans. Are they doing enough to prepare for the upcoming year, and even more, college? Well, most students I talk to are taking at least one summer course at Georgetown, UPenn, Cornell, etc. Though I find this a great start into their future, I, also ask myself: Is this suppose to be the best time of our lives? The time we are suppose to be enjoying our youth and having fun?
