There is an egg drop competition. If you egg survives, you get points for mass*time. The lowest score gets extra credit. So...Assume you have a helium balloon. The mass of a helium balloon is negative. The time it takes to fall will be close to infinite. Therefore the score will be negative infinity = extra credit. It works, right? :D

everything you know about sex, you learned in english class.
If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?
How is the mass of a helium balloon negative?
W = FD = mgD = mass * -9.8 * Distance. The balloon is moving up, so distance is positive, and work is positive. Therefore mass must be negative.

You cannot beat my flawed logic :D

Umm... In my world, at least, you cannot have a negative mass :P
And please don't go get all Albert Einstein on me to prove that you can :P
In chessmaster's equation, mass isn't negative, the acceleration is.
Although, you'd have to have a lot of helium to create a bouyant force that would lift the egg up.

Acceleration is negative, work and distance are positive, therefore mass must be negative. I was just trying to get a thread started about random physics arguments(yes I am that nerdy, get over it). Do you think I can get points for creativity.

Well, I think indeed you can. Too bad my friend Lars isn't a member on this site-he would have started arguing and bleating euqations at you, while going off on random tangents.

hello, my name is Lars II, I do better doing that at history or math. That is the one thing I don't like about physics, its a lot harder to argue about it.

Well if you want a good physics argument going on why not argue the following:
What happens if you have an unstoppable ball and an unpassable wall and the ball runs into the wall?
AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! An unstoppable/answerable joke!!!!! *Groans, and falls off of chair, convulsing as the bad joke courses through her system*
