Do you think that the United States is prepared for the sociological shock involved with a women or person of different ethinicity to be elected as president?

Not at all. People in the US are too judgamental and too racist for it.
I don't think the people are ready nor will they be anytime soon.

I agree. Right now, U.S. has not fully matured to accept women and colored people as president.
I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

No. The vast majority of the United States will consider it a joke if a woman runs for President. The sociological shock is not an issue, because it can't happen until people accept that all men and women really are created equal.

although most of america would flip out if hillary clinton ran and actually ended up becoming the first female president (which would be awesome), i think that woman president whether rep. or dem. is a great idea. imo, if there are any differences in the male and female strengths and weaknesses, it's mainly physical strength. women can deal with stress as well as any man can and they will not "freak out". we're talking about smart mature women running for politics that are smarter than our current president. hell, we have a female secretary of state, she's doing more work than our president.

That's not hard to do...

agreed. but my point still stands lol.
Even if men and women ARE equal, there are still differences when it comes to politics. It's simple, men don't really want a female president, it's too much of a hit on their ego. Also, there would be too much pressure on a female president, any wrong decision and everyone would be on her about it. And it's not just in the US, it's the same in most countries throughout the world.

So U.S. has not fully matured but certainly it did mature quite a bit or is this statement not correct?

Okay, I think that it would be great to have a woman or minority president, but not for the sake of having one. I also think that we should wait a term before we elect one. Right now, with the country in the state that it's in, our next leader is probably going to have to do some major work to get us out of the hole we've dug for ourself. I think that the controversy of the issue or gender or race will take up a lot of time from their duties, even if they try to ignore the issue.
So that's my say.
Oh, one more thing. To Armando. You say that most countries throughout the world think of women below leadership positions. Since when has America been one to always follow trends?
