You know you've been in band too long when........

hahaha, i especially like the calling your band director dad thing! thats funny. id probably have to be seriously out of it though to call my band director dad. considering im mexican and my band director is white. theres just no resemblance, to hard to get the two mixed up..
half time is game time however. that i can easily agree with..
for me my numbers are 8, 16, 32, and sometimes 64..
and yeah.. i guess thats what i'll go with for now. cool post tho!

...during a fire drill you ask to go to the band room, seeing as that's where you'd really be if there was a fire.
...you hear music and start subdividing it.
...you hear music and start marking time.
...you roll step in the cafeteria to avoid spilling food/drinks.

aw crap whatever..id like to think of some but ive only been in real band one year because last year the director quit with no replacement less than 10 weeks in so i left and went to spanish..

You get excited when you hear songs in movies that your jazz band or any other band played.
You get annoyed when you are listening to the radio and the car's blinker is not in sync with the beat of the music.
Someone threatening to kick your instrument is worse than someone threatening to kick you.
You have a favorite key and/or time signature.
You only date people who are in the band (or orchestra or choir).
You've ever suggested having a lock-in in the band room.
When your friends call you a band geek, you don't deny it, and in fact, take it as a compliment.
When you're walking along with a friend, you automatically get in step and in time with their footsteps.
You hear a slight beat and rhythm to everything around you... i.e., the air conditioner, the fan, the pencil scribble sound, and the squeaky desk.
You like the way reeds taste.
You wonder what it would be like to play the music in basically every movie you watch.
You trade instruments when there's a substitute teacher for band class.
You can listen to a song and figure out the time signature, and often consult with other bandies who are doing the same thing at the same time.

hahahahahaha!!! those are funny. that list is long as mess but alot of those are true.
the one about telling what instrument someone plays tho i am usually pretty good at that.

and when i was a freshman i had a lock-in in the band room but was when i only did music part-time and the lock-in was for cross country. and the only reason we had the lock-in in the band room was cause it was the only place other than computer rooms in the school that had air conditioning.

that was only cause it was in hawaii tho, cool place, schools were mildly ghetto tho

I wish we had lock-ins for cross country, but seeing as the team was only 9 people...yeah. Those were so true, though! If anyone even tried to kick my bari, I think I would attack 'em. Lol.
