so, this weekend me and some friends were out hiking and we got ourselves into a situation (don't ask how) where the only way out was to climb a cliff. so my friend finds a good route up the cliff right next to this dead tree trunk that was up against the cliff (this cliff was nearly but not quite verticle). he climbs to the top and says that it is safe so i start climbing and then he accidentaly dislodges a rock the size of my face. this rock proceeds to bounce down the cliff at a fairly high speed right at my face. i jumped out of the way but if it had hit me it would have crushed the front of my head in. i would have then fallen back onto a pointy rock behind me and crushed the back of my head in, and i would have been dead. just, dead.:(
i know people always say that teenagers think they are invincible but i never really thought about it cuz i figured i would never be in a situation where i might die.
anyone else got a good story about almost dying?

well, Mine is just stupid and it wouldn't have been as bad as death I guess, just a broken spine. Paralyzed for life. I was on this a Hay Truck and I was supposed to jump from one side on the railing completely to the ground on the other side. It was a bit wide and I wasn't sure if I could do it, so I tested it. The only reason my back didn't connect to the railing of the truck was because I arched my back by reflex. I had slipped when I jumped and I came at such a horrible angle that it would have done me in if I connected.
I almost drowned once, but that was just stupid. I was five and I kept taking my float off. Well I jumped back in the deep end, but I never put my float back on. So I Started thrashing around in the water and I screamed for my mom as I frantically pushed my head out of the water over and over. My hand couldn't quite reach the edge of the pool, so I desperately keep throwing myself at the end of the pool as I felt like I was sinking. All my screaming didn't get my mom's attention at all, even though she was at the other end of the pool. She was caught up in an important conversation with her friend and I must have been imposing. My bad. Luckly, I got one good push out of the water and then I grabbed the end and proceeded to cough as I threw myself out of the water.
Then there was that time I almost got attacked by wild dogs because I was looking for a nieghbor's dog and I mistakened it for their pup. Man were they pissed off. The three of them started to make a line across the dirt road and walked toward me growling. So I just backed off a good distance and then ran for my life. lol. I also got surrounded by a dog and it bit my armpit before the nieghbor called it off. I hate that dog. The worst thing about that last situation was that I had no protection and all I had in mind was to keep walking. You think the man in the driveway watching it could help, but he decided to watch me almost get ripped apart. I'm so glad the owner got there in time.
oh yeah, dog stories are always scarry. when i was seven or eight and riding bikes with my friends we got chased for two blocks by a pissed off doberman. wow, almost scared my pants right off.

I was driving back up to school the weekend after a huge snow storm and lost control and swerved off the road, crashed into a snowbank, and rolled over a few times before I stopped upside. I was perfectly fine thanks to wearing my seatbelt and the fact that there was still 3 feet of snow on the ground which cushioned the impact. That little accident caused $13k of damage to my car... thank God for insurance!
