So far I have been able to acheive C and C+ and have been observing everyone's study habits. Then it hit me...I have been realizing that I have been doing the wrong thing for the past months. So here's my guide
1. Read the Chapter, not once but atleast 2 times. This process will get you to familize with the chapter and putting stuff into your brain. (Mixing flour with water)
2. Make a chapter outline, they say that writing is a key to memorizing (Kneading the mixture firm by pressing down)
3. Do some practice problems from online or from an AP practice book (sprinkling some raisins and rolling it out)
4. Read the Chapter and notes couple of more times. This process is like caping off your work and polishing it off. (baking into a bread)
I am going to try this method on the next test day which is about a week off..I will tell you my grade afterwards :)
I hope that works out for it. If it doesn't give you the results you want, that style may not be right for you either. If you do want more help deciding feel free to ask me.

It totally works for me. I brought my grade up from a C from first quarter up to a middling A. I always like waking up early in the mornings and reviewing key terms.

How about everybody post up how they study?
That's pretty similar to what I do, hazelnut. Getting up early for a quick review also seems to help.
I have a C right now and to be honest... I rarely read the chapters. (Not the way to go!)
Nice tips but I'm curious as to why you picked the analogy of baking raisin bread. xD
It all depends on the person, but in my opinion, just reading the chapters once will guarantee a better grade. Don't put it to your head that "Weell... everything I need to know was covered in class...." Reading the book will give you a better idea of the chronology and more in-depth information as to why so and so happened.
Of course this is in my humble opinion. * Bow *

I usually read the chapter the weekend before we talk about it (we do at least a chapter a week), then on Mondays, I come here and read the outline. Then, later on during the week, I make my own outline. Usually before tests, I reread the chapters and my notes. Then, the night before, I read the outlines I've made. Or, read the ones here.

Good job! At least you're moving in the right direction and it's an improvement!

Ummm...aren't you trying tooo hard? Cuz the Bailly is kinda broad. Well, an easier tip is just skim through the Bailly book. Then read the voabs, or read Wikipedia if you still can't remember. AND Most of all! DON"T FALL ASLEEP INN CLASS cuz what the teachers talk about are most likely to be on the test.

This is how i study, and this routine has been effective for years.
1. I read the whole chapter twice or more depending on your time availability.I highlight the important points so when I get back to it, its easy to keep track of the most important things.
2. I read the notes in my notebook based on the topic/ and verify it at the book.
3. Look for practice test at the end of the chapter or from other references(somebody says online ref.. that will do), any resourceful methods.
4. Writing the keywords are also important like the suggestion on the above post, however, in some cases, this may take time, so, just choose which is convenient for you. I write sometimes, but, I may choose to just hightlight important items too.
5. I wake up early morning, around 4am, refresh my memory with what I have studied. It is very effective as there are plenty of distractions during the day, or even at nighttime, studying at dawn, your activities will only be studying. So, at 7am, you are prepared to go to school and ready for the biggest challenge in class.
6. I also used to memorize or utter the words/ definitions so it really stick on my mind.
:) i hope you also get something from what i have shared.
