^ oh my goodness... You are... the ultimate AP US nerd!! Congrats. xP

Naah... but I do envy you. I would fall asleep going over the chapter once. xD Hmm... how I'll study. Well the rare times I do study at all I do the following:

1. Read through the chapter.
2. Write down unfamiliar terms
3. Outline important parts and ideas
4. Make flashcards for events

Eh... everyone has their own best way of studying though. * Nod *

Hey all,

But u know what, while there is hardwork and perseverance in studying, sometimes, as a student, while urging to study, it is like the hardest thing to do, but when u graduate and look back...its the sweetest success because every student,in one way or another has made extra ordinary effort to pass the subject, difficult or the easy round. Plus the fact of going to school everyday, and dealing with teachers and co students. All of what we have studied once we graduate will all be part of memories. So, it is important to inculcate and apply the theory of what u have picked up out of studying. or else, studying would become futile as u will be forgetting all of what you have learned in school.

Yeah, I've asked people who took the class already, and paying attention and taking notes on the lectures, in addition to book notes, is really important for studying.

When I was in APUSH, I read each chapter twice through, highlighting as I went. I was actually pretty good at finding key points, and I would write them down to remember/study them.

Also, I think it is necessary to start reviewing for the exam around Christmas time. I took advantage of breaks to get some study time in, and I ended up being the only one in my class not completely stressing out the week before the exam because I had been studying for months already. I got a review book (the AMSCO one called, "United States History, Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination") and read it in its entirety, doing some of the essays as I went. I also took the the practice test at the end. I think taking practice tests is one of the best way to prepare for the exam.

In addition, I would recommend getting the "Fast Track to the Five" book, and reading it at least twice. I read some of the sections three to four times, highlighting and practice the essays. If you don't want to read a ton of review books, I would say this one is the best. If not for that book, I would not have known how to answer the DBQ on the previous exam. And I got a 5. It really works.

*Note: Make sure you can highlight your book before doing so. If you don't, you may end up paying for your book o.0
