Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
First of all, I know you're done but Jefferson didn't act upon the whole freeing the slaves issue because he knew that society wouldn't accept it. < Not exactly in those words, but yeah.
As for the slave and having a child. (That slave was named Sally Hemmings BTW.) And no, she was not treated equally. In his farm book, he had "slaves" mixed in with his animals he had. No special distinction between his animals and slaves.
He even enslaved his own son.
Just thought I'd let you know.
well I read some where that he actually loved Sally, so he could have treated her differently
