Take out the "under God", part of it. Some people are polytheistic while some are atheist.

No, this it's part of the Pledge of Allegiance and part of American History. You don't mess with a tradition like that.

What: It's not about tradition at all. There is no reason that everyone in the US should be obliged to say the pledge with "one nation under god" when there are millions of people who do not believe in God. It goes against what the US stands for - freedom. There is no freedom when you have to say a pledge with religious "affiliation".
I think it should be removed.
At our school they dont force us to verbally say the pledge, but we do have to listen to it...

We have to say it in the school I go to. I don't say it though because 1) I'm not American and 2) I don't believe in the whole "one nation under god" part of it
We don't say the Pledge of Allegiance in our school anymore. We still have American flags in most rooms, but I am pretty sure no one says it around here. Ks. Republicans. Meh.

this gets back to my concpiracy theory of the US being a theocracy. All our laws are based around the 10 commandments, the word God is mentioned in every patriotic writing publisized by the US, and there all our presidents believed in God and Jesus.

Well I don't believe if the president is Christian or whatever the case may be, I just don't agree with mixing religion and government.
eh, nah, we shouldn't remove it..it's a major part of our history and culture. eh, i know it may being sparking debate but really, we're not FORCED to say it b/c it was ruled unconstitutional at some point in time to force kids to say it. so yeah, we're forced to listen to it...but does that really offend you? we don't even have to stand up in our school...eh, it's just so...much of a monument for our country, how can we risk that?
It is silly how people get offended by things they aren't forced to be a part of. The only time it would even breach the grounds of 'unconstitutional' is if a school repremanded a student for not standing and/or pledging. In our school they even say the state pledge... I participate because I like the idea that TX reserved the right to become it's own sovereign nation! ((and we are the only state able to fly our flag at the same level as the US.. it was part of the deal when we signed up))
