Spanish For Beginners!! Come To Me For All Your Spanish-Speaking Needs! Wait a second. What is Spanish anyway? Is is something I cook with? Spanish means of or relating to Spain, its people, or its language. In fact, the language Spanish is often spoken in other countries such as Venezuela or Costa Rica. So no, young one, it is not a cooking utensil. However, it can be used in the kitchen. Let?s take a look at this dialogue? Kitchen Conversations in Spanish English: Child: Hey mom. What are you eating? Mom: Chicken and rice. Child: Do you like it? Mom: Yes, it is my favorite food. Spanish: Ni?o: Hola mam?. ?Qu? usted est? comiendo? Madre: Arroz con pollo. Ni?o: ?T? gusta? Madre: S?, est? mi comida favorita.
