Dominate force in the North- Kushan State, established by Indo-Europeans who had been driven out of C. Asia by the Xiongnu. Kushans penetrated into the mountains N. of the Indus River. Next 2 centuries the Kushans expanded their supremacy along the Indus and into the Ganges Valley. Dynasty began to weaken in the 3rd century C.E.
