The SATs—the dreaded abbreviation that all of us want to avoid. What is it that we fear about it? The fact that it’s the most important test we’re ever going to take? Is it the lingering fear that our peers have for it? Are we simply scared that we won’t get a score we want? There are many reasons as to why we fear this simple 4 hour long test. To ensure success, just follow these simple tips:
• Study! Nothing can ever replace this. Even if you think you know it all, study anyway! Get your hands on the blue collegeboard books, they are invaluable. Read through problems, check your answers, and repeat. It’s simple, but it just takes some motivation to keep at it.
• Get to your test center early! There are many problems that can arise, and you do NOT want to be late and be refused inside. Make sure you have all your supplies.
• Get a good breakfast! You don’t want to do everything on an empty stomach do you? Remember, you’re going to be there for 4 hours. Make sure you had food.
• Be sure to bring a jacket. You never know if the air conditioner will be on, so make sure you don’t freeze to death.
• Do not shake your legs! It’s a distraction to others. If you know you do it, please just stop. Talking from experience, I know that it’s very annoying.
• Work quickly! Read the question without looking at the answers. Then, in your mind, think of an answer. If it matches, that is your best bet. Get through the problems quickly, but do not be careless. Use your extra time to check over your answers.
• RELAX. It’s not the end of the world. It’s not going to define you. It is just a test, and though it’s important, it won’t be life-ending. Just do your best, and if all fails, take it again! Learn from your SAT Insight reviews, and concentrate on what you did wrong.
GOOD LUCK!
