The Impact of the War:
Among the 8-10million people that died from the war, about 2 million Germans, 1.7 million Russians, and 1.7 million Frenchmen. Austria-Hungary lost 1.5milllion, the British Empire a million, Italy 460,000, and the united States 115,000
Besides ending over 8 million lives, the war dislocated whole populations, creating millions of refugees. War and revolution forced hundreds of thousands of Germans and Hungarians to flee their homes. War also led to the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Greeks from Anatolia and Turks from Greece.
