Memoirs of a Geisha -Born in Yoroido -Met Mr. Tanaka Ichiro -Lived in a tipsy house -Named Chiyo, she had translucent gray eyes -Chiyo and her mother had too much water, her father and Satsu, her sister had too much wood. -Chiyo's mother wasn't exactly beautiful -Father was a fisherman and spent much of his time on the sea -Father was a slow person -Father had a family before but all of them died. -Mother had bone cancer when Chiyo was 7. -On the way to get incense, she trips and knocks herself out and Mr. Tanaka of Japan Coastal Seafood Company takes her in. -Tanaka is amazed by her eyes -Chiyoh keeps on thinking about Tanaka. Chapter 2 -Satsu together with the "Sugi Boy" -Mr. Tanaka takes a liking for Chiyo, Chiyo has fantasies that Tanaka may adopt her.
