In fact, it probably starts to occur in such a manner that you tend not to even think of it too much. However, for things to flow logically, someone had to physically take the time to find out this stuff, right? Literally take the precious time to sit, stand, however they preferred, and used their intelligence to devise these complex systems of numbers, variables, and symbols. And even harder, explain themselves to the general public. In such a developmental area of time, the B.C.E. era, Greece was quite ahead of its time. One of its members, Pythagoras, laid the ground work for The Pythagorean Theorem.
