Chapter 1 The faint scent of lavender filled the air as a morning breeze rolled through the meadow. The sun lit up the grass with the help of frosted dew, making it sparkle. The absence of clouds made the field look like a paradise in heaven. Taking in a deep breath, Skylar let the wind brush against her face, soaking in the peaceful moment. It was short-lived, as she could hear the croaking of her grandmother from the valley below. Gracefully, she bent down, ignoring the voice of her elder to gently touch the dandelion planted at her feet. She plucked it from the ground, bringing it close to her face and smelling the vulgar scent.

Nomadic steppe people didn?t trade very much but controlled areas of the Silk Road and sold pack animal?s that were necessary for early traders. -By 100 BCE, China could trade with civilizations as far away as Greece. -Everyone traded spices, fruits, seeds crops, metals, medicines, animals and animal products, and art.
