My old AP US History Teacher, Mr. Tomlin, was a senior AP grader. He said any ETS Free Response Question used the same rubric: Definitions- define every incident in the prompt (i.e. the Han Empire was the successor to the Qin Empire, from 200 BCE to 200 CE, the Roman Empire was the Empire started by Augustus (date needed) to 453 CE). Insight- bring in relevant logical, philosophical principles. Database- in the body paragraphs, make sure to cite the events with the event (date) format. Parameters- explicitly state the time frame Thesis- (we all know what a thesis statement is, being able to summarize political, economic, and social trends concisely)
