Dividing Decimals May 26, 2009 Linda Castellanos Vanessa Gonzalez First Glance At Things: There are only a few exceptions that separate dividing decimals and whole numbers. One of the main ones is that you use the position of the decimal point in the dividend to show the decimal places in your answer. The rest just falls into place. Easy First Steps Identify your divisor as a whole number or decimal. If your divisor is not a whole number, move the decimal place all the way to the right in order for it to become a whole number. Then count up how many spaces you moved it and move those same spaces on the dividend. Work It Out Now that you?ve turned the divisor into a whole number and moved up the same number of places on the dividend we?re working it out.

It is an inescapable conclusion that we must come to when reading Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 that the people and the society he describes are not happy. They constantly search for solace in their lives and, when confronted by the obvious unhappiness of their situation, they drown their troubles in “families” and electronics. Guy Montag, on the other hand, finds his own solace and newness in life through connection to the opposite, as Bradbury shows through specific rhetorical strategies in this passage.

Civil Disobedience Summary: Thoreau begins by arguing that government rarely proves itself useful and that it derives its power from the majority because they are the strongest group, not because they are the most correct. He believes that people's first obligation is to do what they believe is right and not to follow the law dictated by the majority. Basically, person is not obligated to devote his life to eliminating evils, but she or he is obligated not to participate in such evils. This includes not being a member of an unjust government. Thoreau argues that the united states fits his criteria for an unjust government, of slavery and its practice of aggressive war [the Mexican war].
