Jordan Castle Period 1 3/22/13 Word Count: 313 In the Shakespearian story, A Midsummer Night?s Dream, a relationship between love and reason is seen between various characters. When Shakespeare talks about the interplay of love and reason, he is saying that a person can be controlled totally by love and by reasoning but at times, one wins over the other. In the story, a character that is ruled by love is Lysander. In the beginning of the story, Lysander is in love with Hermia, but as soon as Puck puts him under a love spell, Lysander professes his love for Helena. Lysander is completely driven by love and does not take reason into account. Lysander says on page 29, Content with Hermia? No; I do repent The tedious minutes I have with her have spent. Not Hermia, but Helena I love.

The wind picked up in that instant. Sand thrashed about the open area. As all of this natural existents went down a man watched close by. His short, brown hair whirled upward, trench coat fluttered behind him. His gaze kept on the waves that crashed about the shore. Finally, sunlight came through the clouds, hitting the man, giving him an angelic glow. His stare went upward into the light. His crystal, blue eyes glistened in the light but soon that faded away. The dark clouds formed in front of the sun once more, giving the day its original gloomy look.

Jilly Empey 4/22/12 English/Ethics Rench Animal Farm Alternate Ending The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which. Life on the farm continued to be laborious and food rations were dwindling. The smell of cooking barley often wafted out through the windows of the farm house, and at night one could hear the obnoxious singing and dancing coming from the drunken pigs. Now, many of the animals were well past the set retiring age, including Clover, Jessie, and Bluebell. They often complained of sore feet and whatnot to the other animals, and subtly hinted their ages now and then to the pigs.

Siblings, at first glance you might think they hate each other but, when the time comes, love is shown. Jem and Scout and all the siblings in the world experience this. We all at one point hate our sibling and sometimes even wish they had never existed. However, we also realize that we love them no matter how annoying they might be. The feeling that siblings have to protect each other is one that everybody faces through their whole life and this is what helps us recognize that love overcomes any circumstance.
