Spanish and British Exploration

Spanish exploration began in 1492, while the British didn?t begin exploration until the late 16th century. By the time the British stepped in, the Spanish had already controlled over half of the U.S., all of Mexico and the Caribbean, and all of South American except Brazil. The British were left with the East Coast of the U.S. and all of Canada.
