Post-War Decolonization and Social Developments Zain Qurahsi What were the consequences of the ending of the Cold War? Who won the Cold War and why? The consequence of ending the cold war was that the communist system in Europe ended. The Berlin wall collapsed and the tensions of cold war cooled down when the soviets had rivalries with china. U.S won the cold war because in the end they were the only military superpower standing. The USSR was gone in 1991 and U.S was still standing. It is still questionable though on who won because it wasn?t a physical war it was more of trash talking and small encounters which did not have much effect. In the end the communists lost. Describe the two postwar trends and their impact on Europe and the rest of the world?
