Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
hey I'm in an american school in casablanca, Morocco--- long story.. and I'm taking APUS we get a bunch of homework on a chapter for every week and its all due on a friday or something, chapter quizzes avery week then a unit test at the end of the 3-4 chapter. we get atleast 2 essays per test about 20 MC 10 short answer 10 true false and if it false we have to write the correct uhh thing and if you get that wrong then its all wrong and then we get an interpret the_____ (map, cartoon, etc.) but it isnt too bad..
but we've got two more weeks til AP and everyone's stressing so all we're doing now is reviewing like crazy..... im scared:(
I'm jealous your teachers put in any effort at all! My teacher yells when we don't ask questions, and then if we do, he tells us we're stupid because the answers are in the book. He's not very good at lecturing, seeing as he spends half the class screaming at us for not being able to write an essay or DBQ. He says that he will get paid the same whether we pass the test or not, so it's not his fault if we all fail. He cares more about his regular American history classes than my AP class, and we don't have like any homework at all. The only reason we know anything is because we teach ourselves. Personally, I don't really care what grade I have in the class because our score on the AP test determines our final grades. Besides, we'll all do well on the test and our stupid teacher will get credit for our success. Doesn't that suck?
In my class, my teacher gives 2 tests a quarter, each weighing about 25% of our total grade. The tests consist of about 50-70 MC questions and one essay. We aren't on a blocked schedule to do this, so we only have around 50 minutes to complete the test. I think that these conditions have helped my class prepare for the AP. (Obviously his plan has worked, with his AP passing rate at around 70%)
I usually get 84-90 if I study well, but if I don't the grade goes down.
For my class the AP test counts as nothing, just a way to get college credit
You guys seem to always mention vocab. Why is vocab so important?
I feel prepared for the test. My teachers are awsome at my school they combined our honors english class with U.S. History. They always give a in class DBQ on each chapter and chapter outlines. But i am still scared of the big bad AP Test
our school did the same thing w/ the amer. lit course and a.p. american history together. its really helpful to have the two together. im really scared bout the test though!!!!
