Your point? Caffeine is a drug, one you probably use regularly.

I don't think the government should be allowed to control what people do to their own bodies. Especially when certain drugs are legalized, and others are not.. who draws the line there? I mena, of course there should be restrictions, no smoking and driving, you must be over 18 or 21, the harmful effects should be widely publicized, etc, but other than that people should be free to mess themselves up as they please.

Besides, if Marijuana was legal it would actually be benificial. There would be more space in our prisons for real criminals, and the government could make a killing taxing it, much like they do for cigs.

Oh come on! The drug has more harmful effects than cigaretts and has hundreds of cancer causing toxins. And make rooms for real criminals? These are the "real" criminals. Their drugs kill the users.

All right! Let's give free drugs to everyone! In fact, we should smoke as we please anywhere and anytime until the smoke is everywhere and starts to harm the innocent people with more cancer and let's help the cancer statistics in second hand smoke rise up! That's a great idea! Oh. And if we users get cancer, we want the doctors to fix us up right away because of our own stupidity. And after the cancer's gone, maybe a little smoke won't hurt.

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

If we legalize marijuana, think of how many more kids would be exposed to it. Most of them wouldn't even realize it would mess them up until it's too late.

I don't think we should let people to mess themselves up as they please. Why do most people turn to marijuana? Because they have problems they can't resolve. Legalizing the drugs wouldn't help at all. For smoking (even cigars, etc.), drinking and drugs - they're all the same to me. It's like watching someone slowly getting mauled off by a lion. You told your friend not to jump into the lion's den but he did it anyways... Now you're just watching him trying to escape the lion who only catches up to him and corners him. You watch your friend getting slashed and bitten and you hear his bloodcurdling scream for help...and you have a gun in your hand... Wouldn't you shoot the lion to help the him even though what he did was completely idiotic?

So, how is that any different from letting marijuana be legalized and watch 10 year-olds smoke themselves to death...? (eh, sorry about that pathetic scenario - couldn't come up with a good one)

The below statement is false.
The above statement is true.

Kids are plenty exposed to it already. If anything, it's more appealing that it's illegal (it's "cool").

There's no denying that marijuana in excess is not very good for you, but it's relatively fine in moderation. And some people are willing to take the positive feelings over the possible long-term effects of over indulgence. Who is the government to say that they can't? I'm not condoning the use of drugs, but I think if person weighs the pros and cons for themselves, it's up to them to decide.

As far as I know, 10 year olds smoking isn't legal...

And I'd just like to say for the record that I am not a user, in fact I've never even tried it. I don't think that I should smoke, but I'm perfectly okay with others doing it.

Guns kill people, lets put gun manufacturers in jail. Car crashes kill people, so lets get cars off the streets.

It's all a matter of how you use something that defines whether it kills or not. People choose to do Marijuana, it's not like people are stuffing THC down their throats involuntarily.

I'd like to see where you get the idea that secondhand marijuana smoke causes cancer. And even if it was true, would you care if people willfully smoked, knowing that it might give them cancer? Would that be your place to tell them what they can and can't do to their own body?
