Quote:Worst:Grant
Ok, first off, this guy, in my opinion, was a crappy general, losing 57000 men to Lee's 25000. Also, his office was incredibly corrupt during his presidency and the only reason he was elected was because he "waved the bloody shirt"

a) The discussion is about the worst PRESIDENT, not GENERAL.
b) If he was such a "crappy" General... How the hell did the North win the war?
c) To answer the previous question: He was a great General. Although he was willing to except enormous casualties, the most important thing is that he got the job done. Look at how he became the leader of the Northern Army... he won, and won, and won. He would not accept defeat nor conditional surrender. Would it have been any better if Grant had less casualties and lost?
d) His presidency is a different story.

e) Your arguement sounds like you're reciting something your history teacher told you.
