Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!

usa makes me a very angry student~
It also makes me angry when people forget that the pledge was written before everyone got so easily angered by two freakin little words... if it bugs you that freakin bad DON'T SAY THEM!!!!!!!
and as for the prayer in diguise as a moment of silence..... how many people do you think actually pray during those things????? in all honesty... probably next to none.... and besides... its used to show respect for something... like 9/11 or people in war... its a time to make sure that you remember that people are risking their lives to save your sorry but or to remember innocent people who dies because a group of terrorists hate america with every fiber of their being... the prayinf part in an CHOICE, its NOT MANDATORY
no if they force you to pray outloud, or blatenly say that it is prayer, and its a public school, then it not only violates the 1st amend. but it also violates the ruling of the 1962 supreme court case engel v. vital which basicaly says that public prayer in school violates the 1st amend. even if it is non-denom.
if you go to a private school, im pretty sure that doesn't apply.
p.s. sorry if it seems super harsh.... just got up and the previous post was like the first thing i read.... started writting angry but now i have cooled off some
addition: i have a question that is an opinion answer, sorta. what is like to go to a religious private school and have to learn evolution... would they even teach it?? and if they would, would they say at some point " even though i am teaching you this, just disregard it completly."??? just something i was pondering

private schools can make their own curriculum so no, they wouldnt have to teach that... they dont recieve public funding (which is why you have to pay to go there) so they dont have to follow the same standards set down by the state...
How could one such as myself answer such a question without so much as a second glance?
i dont say the pledge because of that. its still against separation between church and state no matter how little of a deal it is. would it matter more if it was something bigger? we have terrorism in our own usa, for example: the federal reserve, and almost no1 realizes it, but when it deals with the middle east...everyone goes crazy..
oh btw...we are the ones killing innocent ppl in the middle east right now ...so yea...
i still respect the soldiers who save ''my sorry butt'' however im 100% against this retarded war.
no one evr said what god it is..... new thing to ponder... yes at the time it was written it was probably directed towards the christian god most likely...
Factiod: the "under god" was added later... found that out yesterday.......
but it never says who's god.... different religions... different gods......
slightly off topic but here is a new thing to ponder for today...
hypathetically: is "ok" (not the best word choice, but its early and right now i have a limited vocab..) for say someone to move here who's religion called for cannibalism.... meaning they can kill random people, eat their carcus and cry "it's part of my religion?????? should they "get away with it"?????
i'll share my thoughts on that after you all do....

Honestly, science is all about proving the truth, and so far, ID has not been able to be proven as true, so is it dismissed it as false? I do not believe ID discussions belong outside of the college curriculum. Despite this, ID is much too entangled in religion to be viewed with much objectivity, which a science must have. Therefore, you should bring to your school's attention discrepancies such as these. While ID should not necessarily be pushed under the proverbial rug, it does not belong in a lower educational system's science classroom as it has great potential to cloud the mind and brings about questions that cannot be answered as of yet. Now college is a different matter, as students here have a means and knowledge to go in depth into the topic and puzzle out its mysteries. Then this could go anywhere...but we're not talking about college, are we?

I agree with that statement. One person rights end where someone elses begins. if by granting on person their freedom of religion you are taking away somone elses right to life... then the cannibal loses...

you also have to keep in mind, depending on the topic, the need of the many outweighs the need of the few... and of course you have to reference "the want of the powerful outweighs the need of the weak", so it all depends on what the topic is...
