Well money is kind of an issue to me but i really want to get into those schools . Is there any way on how to contact kids who go into Harvard or Princeton to interview them. I mean my cousin got accepted to Harvard on full scholarship but he has mental issues now because he did too much and was very not social at all. I would ask him but he is on medications now, and i can't ask him family or anything because they won't provide the answer as good as a student who actually got into an Ivy league school . Also they offer Ivy League service, is that worth paying for, they talk about how they will prepare you and fill out FASFAs for you and all that?

If you have money issues, there are tons of scholarships out there - many for students at the school itself and many for anyone who enters. Make sure you drop by the financial aid office of the schools you're interested in and they should tel you about the options available to you. There are also loans, but you have to be careful with those. Harvard and Princeton do rely more on grades and figures I believe. I wasn't accepted into Harvard, but then again, I had visited and decided it wasn't for me. I'm not one for heavy competition or an entire campus totally immersed in liberal arts - but that's just me. Usually colleges have summer programs and programs where you can meet a student, spend the night in a dorm, have them show you around a bit, eat at the dining hall, stuff like that. Visiting the campus is a very important part too that many people over look. It's another way to show your interest in a school. As to the Ivy League services, I'm not sure about that, nor do I know how to find information to better advise you.

P.S. - Make sure you take your SAT I and SAT II's early on so you can improve if you need to...

And yes, breath. Breathing is very important and you have plenty of time, you're on the right track getting on this now.

Oh, hey...I have a friend who went to Princeton. She just started this year and I haven't spoken to her in awhile, but I'll see if I can get some advice from her...

No problem. I'm sure you'll be great, just hang in there, try to relax every once in awhile, and you'll be great. As a completely random bonus, here's a cute animal ^^

I'm looking at Montevallo which is in Montevallo, Alabama. Um, I was going to apply to the University of Alabama, Agnes Scott, and Middlebury in Vermont, but my very awesome guidance counselor pointed me to Montevallo. Its got 3,200 students, a very good liberal arts program, and I can get enough scholarships to pay the tuition and have money left over. I'm feeling really good about this choice. Its only about 3 hours from where I live so its close enough to home, but not too close. I think I'll really be able to adjust there and not have to deal with classes of 300 students.

hmm...i think i'll just stick with something near home for now...my parents don't feel comfortable with me going far...they think i'll run away and never come back! well...there just the typical overprotective parents..you gotta love em anyways right?

well...i haven't decided which school to go to exactly, but it will be in cali for my parents sake...

anyone have any suggestions as to where i should go in about a year?? :D

Haha. I refuse to stay in California. I love this state like none other, but I think that since I have the opportunity to live outside my beloved state for four years that I should just go. Then I can come back and be like California, I'm never leaving again (if that's the case).

To bebeswe3tz... definitely look at the UCs. Haha. It's like a given for us California kids. Do you want to go to a big school? A small one? There are many factors to consider. You can start researching schools and visit a lot of them. It's always nice to get visits done junior year then just use your senior year to focus on applying to the schools. I'd advise you to make sure you KNOW where you want to go before senior year starts. I basically just finalized my college list a week ago and I'm ONLY starting applications now. Not so good, but I'm trying to get them done.

LOL. You never know though. Maybe apply to a college or two outside of California, just in case you really want to leave.

Everyone makes college sound like such a big deal, you know? So it's basically worrying me to pieces! I don't like making life changing decisions. Haha. But thanks for the luck. I'm going to NEED it.
