84760 ? PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT ?1? The Good Laws When we are growing up our parents lecture us on having a good character. What exactly is good character? Well you can argue for days maybe weeks on the topic of character. Good character, in my belief is a combination of good traits that someone reflects. Some of the traits of good character would be honesty, respect, integrity, compassion, responsibility, and self-discipline. In the past I have encountered challenges testing my honesty and respect.

I wonder why the itsy bitsy spider went up so high So far up in the very wild blue yonder sky Why couldn?t you just stay? (Rhetoric question) It doesn?t have to be this way Up you go towards the pristine lucid water spout What is this all about? (Alliteration) Now comes the rain pounding down like angry fists on the roof of the car (metaphor) Soon this is going to wane in minutes so far Drenches the spider out Now the pitch-dark spider has a doubt Up comes the sight of bright light from the sun (internal rhyme) And dried up all the rain that had begun Now itsy bitsy spider Climbed the water spout

?To be, or not to be? That is the question.? Actually, it is not the only one in this play. In fact, William Shakespeare?s The Tragedy of Hamlet Prince of Denmark is considered to be, ?the play of questions,? because of all of the ambiguities that the audience cannot seem to solve. Is Hamlet actually mad? Is the ghost of King Hamlet real? Is Ophelia, Polonius? innocent, unmarried daughter pregnant? Although Shakespeare does not directly say whether Ophelia is or is not pregnant, there is strong evidence that proves it. In proving that Ophelia is pregnant, although the other characters do not know about it, it is seen that the pregnancy directly affects what the other characters think of Hamlet.

In Cold Blood

We can pinpoint several artistic aspects of In Cold Blood. First, Capote has to make choices about the structure of the book. Capote chose a starting and ending point, and in between he choose the order and subject matter of the chapters. In the first section, "The Last to See Them Alive," chapters on the activities of the Clutter family alternate with chapters on the preparations for murder being made by Hickock and Smith. Reading about Nancy Clutter baking a pie and then reading about the killers' tattoos creates a montage, contrasting subsequent images to create a specific impression. No newspaper article would have such a creative structure.

Kaprea Devila Miss Safari English II-H, period 1 18 March 2011 Desire for Power The working class of society has led most, if not all, revolutions in all of history. For example, the working class led the revolution in America when the thirteen colonies desired to separate from Great Britain. In many cases in history, the working class led the revolution and created a shift in power. In chapter six of Lord of the Flies, William Golding expresses the ideas of Marxist Criticism through the tension and conflict between the hunters and the chief by demonstrating that man?s desire for power will cause the revolution led by the hunters.

Birmingham?was the largest city in Alabama with a population of approximately 225,000. During the 1950s and 1960s, Birmingham was one of the most segregated cities in the South with strict city ordinances that made it unlawful for different races to mix and mingle in almost all social settings. Outsiders Coming In Because the Southern Christian Leadership Conference was a national organization that worked to support local, grassroots campaigns for civil rights, they wee often accused of being outside agitators. When King worked with local groups such as the ACHMR, he often became the focus of media attention, resulting in local segregationists viewing him and SCLC as outsiders who were disrupting their community.
