The American Spirit Thought Provokers #27
Spirit #27 Yes, the press has an ethical responsibility to pursue sober policies, even if it hurts circulation. As the press, they have a job to inform people on the truth, not lies that will earn them more money. I think some (not all) news stations and newspapers show more responsibility than the press did in 1898. They may not release the whole story to the public because they want to have an ?angle,? but the little information released is typically true. However, magazines, such as the National Inquirer, are not very truthful in their articles. But, it is widely known which sources don?t release all the correct information, and Americans typically know where they can receive the truth.
