1. Allegory- a narrative used to describe what is going to take place in a story. Example: 2. Alliteration- repeating consonant sounds that make a pattern of sounds. Example: "Licking Lovely Little Lollipops" The letter "L" at the beginning of each word gives the phrase a similar tone. 3. Allusion- reference to another form of literary work by a person, place, or thing in history. Example: "I'm no Romeo" The person saying this is comparing their self as not being as romantic as Romeo of "Romeo & Juliet." 4. Analogy- basing a comparison on two similar things. Example: "Citizens are to president as solar system is to galaxy" The objects have a direct affect of relating to one another. 5. Anaphora- repetition of a word or words at the beginning of two or more phrases or sentences.
