Psychology- the science of behavior and mental processes. It describes and explains how we thing, feel, and act. Stemmed from growing interest in ourselves and others. Bacon + Locke= empiricism, meaning knowledge comes from experience, science needs data and experiments. Titchford brought structuralism (asks ?what??) using introspection to crack the case of the mind. It required ?smart? people so was deemed as unfit. James brought functionalism, asking questions like ?how? and ?why.?. consciousness serves a purpose!
