Jilly Empey 4/22/12 English/Ethics Rench Animal Farm Alternate Ending The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which. Life on the farm continued to be laborious and food rations were dwindling. The smell of cooking barley often wafted out through the windows of the farm house, and at night one could hear the obnoxious singing and dancing coming from the drunken pigs. Now, many of the animals were well past the set retiring age, including Clover, Jessie, and Bluebell. They often complained of sore feet and whatnot to the other animals, and subtly hinted their ages now and then to the pigs.

Cynthia Cortez 3rd hour Nature can work in many ways. Nature has magical things that it can do to a person. It can help with making a person feel better, or relaxed. When a person is stressed out or just needs to get away from everything one place many think off is far away somewhere where no one can find them. A forest is part of nature. With nature being everywhere and can do many things to people, authors often put nature in their novel but people lease expect it. In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Allen, Allen adds nature to a part where the main character can use as a gate away to his mistake he abandoned.

Satan. Lucifer. The Devil, Beast, Villain, Antichrist?Accountant? The character by that same name portrayed in Joseph Conrad?s ?Heart of Darkness? could very well be seen this way. Although originally described as more of an angelic figure, as he had ?Such an unexpected elegance?that in the first moment I took him for a sort of vision. I saw a high starched collar, white cuffs, a light alpaca jacket, snowy trousers, a clean necktie, and varnished boots. No hat. Hair parted, brushed, oiled, under a green-lined parasol held in a big white hand. He was amazing? (Conrad)

Around the world in eighty days essay When Phileas Fogg makes his journey around the world he is not alone. He is accompanied by his valet, Passepartout, an exuberant man with a big heart and an almost magnetic attraction to danger. He spends a good portion of the book getting himself and those around him into trouble and it is easy to imagine Fogg doing better without the hindering of his servitor. However, throughout the course of the story, Passepartout is transformed from an accident-prone manservant to one of the driving forces behind the story. Lending talents and abilities that no one realized he had, Passepartout hugely contributes to the overall success of the trip. In our first encounter with Passepartout, he seems like an average servant: loyal, unquestioning, and
