Jonathan Edwards Essay
Steven Vanegas English 2 6th Period Jonathan Edwards Essay Throughout the ages, humanity as a whole has been concerned about afterlife, judgment, and death. As people became more obsessed with these ideas they slowly began producing their own fear as to whether or not they have lived sanctimonious lives that would save them from damnation. In his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, Jonathan Edwards conveys emotional appeals of fear combined with imagery to describe that not only does his congregation need salvation, but he does too. The element of fear is therefore enhanced and well beyond what any sane healthy person can endure.
