Amanda Guth Mr. O?Neill AP US History II October 11, 2011 During the years 1917 to 1921, the United States underwent a transformation politically. No longer did simple liberal and conservative matters divide the house; a broad spectrum of foreign policy beliefs pertaining the ever-controversial Treaty of Versailles also added to ongoing disputes. Following World War I, democrat President Woodrow Wilson proposed this Treaty in hopes to create a League of Nations. This was an organization under which each nation would be represented and would adjourn in order to solve disputes peacefully.
