Iran Nuclear Proliferation

Iran, along with its surrounding countries, is a location of turmoil, death and wealth in relation to the United States. Terrorist groups such as the Hamas give that area a bad name, and their suppression/ Iran’s oil reserves gives presidents from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama a reason to invade. Even with their vast oil supply, nuclear energy/ uranium refinement is now preferred. Facilities which enrich U235 for light water nuclear reactor usage only require less than 20% purity, but certain technologies are now under question of producing 85% or more, weapons grade purity. So far, Iran has managed to make a “minute amount of near 20% within days of starting production” (IAEA report, 2010).
