Some of the basic requirements you should have for designing and/or drawing a floor plan is: For AutoCAD: -Multiple layer colors, line widths, and styles -An idea of how it will look. Add more later if wanted or needed -Everything is to scale with 1"=Measurement For Paper: -Ruler -Translucent paper for tracing -Lead pencils (.5, 0.7, and 0.9)
