1. The Mayans had a unique culture. One such thing that I found interesting was the buildings of pyramids and their significance to religion. They viewed pyramids as a mountain to heaven. Also, they had sacred trees that showed a small insight to their religion. It was a visual representation of where one goes when they die. The roots of a tree are underground and depicts the under world and the branches of a tree are high up in the air and depict the heavens. Kings were significant in religion and they decorated themselves with tattoos and piercings to show their divinity but also secular power. Blood shedding rituals were also done by kings to talk to the dead.
