Occasionally, humans get things wrong. It’s pretty hard for any one person to do everything exactly as he or she should when there are six billion people on the planet, each with their own ideas of what “should” be. Although mistakes are relative--failing to color in the lines could be considered less of a mistake than failing a driver’s test, it’s still disheartening when you make one. And, let’s just be honest: not making mistakes is near impossible. I say near because I don’t want to dissuade you from trying for none.

As next year is my senior year, I can safely say that I know what has helped me though the past three years of high school. Since freshmen year, my friends and I have learned that no matter what trouble you may find yourself in, a good group of friends to hold onto is something that can never be replaced. The help and counsel that a close friend can give is something genuine that should not be underestimated.
"Why go to college?" ,as I am sure some of you reading this article are asking yourself. Some of you are probably asking, "Can't I just get a job after highschool like my dad and grandpa did?" Unfortunately, the times have changed. Along with our economy and our unemployment rates. The importance of going to college and earning at least a bachelor's degree I can not stress enough. The Bureau of Labor Statistics database shows a drastic increase of unemployment rates since 1999 to present of highschool graduates with no college education.
My family and I have visited 14 colleges all together. From Boston to Los Angeles, we have been all over the country. This of course, has ranged in time from the summer of my 8th grade up until now, the summer of my senior year. I've been told all my life how important the college selection process (choosing which college to apply to) is, but I never fully grasped it until now that the situation is right upon me.
As we have all come to know, high school is a time busy with preparation for, according to our parents, the best and most expensive four years of our lives: college. But how on earth is there enough time to do everything? School, sports, chorus, volunteering, work, and attempting to maintain at least some semblance of a social life. This is modern day high school. So we at Course Notes have come up with a few tips to help the high school student out with time management.
This past year, the admissions officers at Harvard University read over 19,000 applications – that’s 19,000 essays – all arranged nicely in Times New Roman font on the common application. In all this mess, your application is looking, quite frankly, common.

The responsibilities of being a school club, student organization, or student body officer may get very overwhelming. Whether you're the president, vice president, secretary, or even the treasurer, they all bear responsibilities that help keep everything running smooth. It's important to keep in mind the big picture (which is of course the club, organization, or student body); the key: communication.
Is it that special time during your high school career when you'll make decisions that will affect your future? Junior year may be considered the most difficult during the span of high school: adjusting to AP classes, taking SAT tests or preparing for it, and researching colleges, all of which piles up into a lot of work. However, it is during the senior year that students must make that decision of a lifetime and finally put together all their hard work, which will reflect on their college applications.
Relax. That’s something someone should tell you and who better than me? You might not understand what I referred to earlier. I was referring to the stress-causer, anxiety producer, and most important scary process known as: THE COLLEGE APP. Yikes, just reading that gave me the creeps. Seniors of 010 your in for a long and difficult race, may the best racer win and may all of the racers get to the goal sound and safe.
