If you’re thinking of some ways to add a little fun and variety to school or campus activity, then think of what impact these ideas would have on your school.

Clubs
Computer Science/Programming Club – this club would host gatherings for people who are into computer programming. You could have several group projects that the entire club could contribute to. Maybe having exclusive competitions would add some amount of interest.

Don’t bother with a calculator…

Hi reader! With this article, I intend to have you walk away with the logic skills to figure out simple math problems in your head, without a calculator. I am going to do my best to explain the logic techniques, but once you begin to understand the basic idea, the rest will be easy.

Introduction
So, let’s start with the overall concept first before I offer specific strategies for different types of problems. Basically, the idea is to break the big problem we’re trying to do into super-easy steps. Here’s an easy example:

The college admissions process can certainly create plenty of chaos and havoc. Because of this, many students tend to focus on their schoolwork or test prep and overlook the scheduling aspect. How many Advanced Placement classes can one take each year? When should I take the ACT or SAT? Many of these questions are simply overlooked. As a rising senior, I feel I have benefited from the planning I did last summer. Many of my peers mistakenly took the SAT without adequate preparation. Others scheduled too many AP classes and felt overwhelmed late in the year.

Everyone always complains about the prospect of Junior Year. After mostly cruising through 9th and 10th grade, people are usually taking their first AP classes, getting higher positions in their extracurricular activities, and worrying about the SATs and ACTs. But it doesn’t end there. There are responsibilities that come as a part of finally being upperclassman. There are better parties, better things to participate in, and the junior class always has to stand its ground against the haughty seniors. With all of that it is hard to imagine how one could juggle everything.

I’m sure I won’t be the first teenager ever to say this, but AP classes and exams suck. First, you put a ton of time and effort into the class and you have to make sure that you’re keeping up with everything in your other classes. Chances are you also work or do community service (or both) so you have to make sacrifices. Where do you start? How do you choose? The best thing I’ve found is to organize your “stuff” to what will get you furthest in your future. I’m not sure how to tell you to but as for AP classes, I’ve got a few tips on how to stay sane during exams:

My first AP class. Would it be hard? Would I pass or fail? What would the homework be like? Those were some of the many thoughts running through my head. But now, after a long year, it’s over because it’s summer time. I’ve taken the class, I’ve taken the AP test, and I’ve also learned that I’ve taken a great opportunity.

“Rhythm!” Bellowed my dance teacher. “Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm!” he repeated over and over again to a group of beginning African dance one students of which I, unfortunately somehow was part of.

You see, the only reason I had put myself in such a “rhythm-filled” situation was because in theory this class seemed fun, effortless, and most importantly, an easy A. But as I learned quickly and harshly, it was about as far as that as anything could come. African Dance class was how I should say, tough, challenging, and most importantly it demanded your entire dedication.

A good high school resume can make a really important impression on your colleges when you start sending off applications this fall. With many top-notch universities, resumes are one of the only ways besides your essays they can figure out what differentiates one straight-A student from another. Think of it as your calling card; it gives the college a taste of who you are, what you do, and what makes you tick, letting them take a peek past that uninformative transcript to see whether you’d be a good candidate for their school.

High school is a time when everyone thinks you need to grow up, act more mature, enter into the adult world, take responsibility, and shed yourself of silly childlike tendencies. Agreed, a lot of high school does consist of life long lessons that will shape who you are in college and beyond, but, one of the most important thing to remember to do in high school is not to forget to be yourself and allow yourself to still have some childish fun.
