Were you ever faced with a difficult situation? For example
you chose a really difficult class in school and you felt like you
couldn't take it anymore. You felt like a trapped butterfly that
couldn't extricate itself from the tight cacoon. Well that was
exactly how I felt when I decided to take two very hard classes in
highschool, (ontop of the 9 other ones I was taking.) I'm not saying
that you shouldn't challenge yourself, because the best feeling is
when you make an arduous effort, and finally succeed.

Rewinding a couple of months back, I was a very anxious teenager who

When you first walk through those doors, it seems as though there are a million things racing through your mind and a million faces staring at you. Don’t sweat it! Starting high school is just another stop on that wild journey called life. As you look around, you see sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Don’t forget, all of those people went through the same thing that you are going through just a year or two ago.

What exactly does the word “sober” or “abstemious” mean? Well, it all depends on your experiences and your attitude. In today’s world, it may seem impossible to avoid alcohol, drugs, and other harmful substances. Remember, however, you’re not alone. If you want to remain “clean” or “sober” you have to stop worrying so much about what others think.

Everyone has their own way of studying and using this website is an awesome way to clarify and further remember the material. My strategy was to first read the chapter I was being tested on. Then, I read the outline, for that particular chapter, found on this website. After reading the outline, I found that I was able to better remember the chapter, as well as understand anything that had confused me earlier. Also, I had found important ideas that I had missed while reading the chapter, when I read the outlines.

As I look around, I notice high students everywhere stressed over college and grades. They have been stressed not only about finals, AP exams and regular tests, but also on their summer plans. Are they doing enough to prepare for the upcoming year, and even more, college? Well, most students I talk to are taking at least one summer course at Georgetown, UPenn, Cornell, etc. Though I find this a great start into their future, I, also ask myself: Is this suppose to be the best time of our lives? The time we are suppose to be enjoying our youth and having fun?

High School should be a time of friends, freedom, and new experiences. Unfortunately, high school isn’t always this way. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, a lottery, to get days when you have little homework and few activities. Other days, the ones that just sneer in your face and make you want to buy a pack of Depends, you get a test the next day, a paper, Boy Scouts, a Football game, and three hours of work. The thing is, this misery doesn’t always last. It sucks now, but it always gets better.

So you’ve decided to take that big step and move hundreds of miles away from home to a college out of your home state. This decision is likely frightening, exciting, and sad at the same time. I had also made this big step towards what I thought would be freedom just under a year ago. Through this process, I gained some valuable knowledge about how to prepare for out-of-state colleges which I now pass on to you.

We've all been there. The one teacher that inspires you to love learning, explore new fields of study, and miss school, and the other one who does just the opposite. But, there are many varieties of teachers, all with different good/evil in them (Think Anakin Skywalker circa "Revenge of the Sith", a precarious balance between good and evil). No two teachers are alike, but there are several categories that each one falls near.

Now That It’s Summer

Students greet summer vacation eagerly each and every year. For most, summer means freedom and relaxation while for others, it is another opportunity to advance and maybe earn a few bucks or two. Everyone wants a memorable summer vacation to sustain them throughout the next school year. So make it happen this summer—and no, not by being the center of the hottest scandal or going through flings at a rate you can never achieve in reading. Make this list your to-do list for the summer and add a few goals of your own so that you will always remember summer of ’09.
