Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
Dude kid, with an unweighted GPA fo 3.96 you're pretty set.
I have a GPA of like...3.1 i think. But I'm not worried. I am going to state teachin schools and music schools, no high GPA requirements.

If you're still worried, try reading the book 'The Gatekeepers'. It's about the registration/acception process at a very particular and exacting private collage. We have to read it in English, and it does have a lot of information that goes towards applying to high-scale and top-knotch schools. I don't like it, since I don't want to go to colleges like that (Ivy league and the like), and I think it dosen't apply to me, but you might like reading it.
The problem that I've been having with finding a college is because so few offer the major that I'm really interested in, Equestrian Studies, along with a good strong course in Chemistry and the sciences. Most colleges that offer both are private colleges, which means that (in general) they're more expensive...so far, I've got Lake Erie College, University of Minnisota: Crookston, Midway College, and Virginia Intermont College.

and also do you guys know what is the ACT score necessary to get into Cal Tech and such colleges? and do you guys suggest taking the ACT more than once and SAT more than once?

To find out scores I suggest creating an account at www.collegeboard.com and then going to the college planner. It will tell you all sorts of useful stuff about different colleges. And yes, it's always a good idea to take the ACT/SAT more than once. Well, maybe not if you got the maximum score, but otherwise yeah. But keep in mind that schools like Cal Tech look at more than just your scores.

Not so sure about history, but for science, there's always the science fair and there's this thing called Science Olympiad that goes to the national level. If you're school doesn't already have a team you could try to make one. And there's always science scholarships and history scholarships that look impressive on resumes. You're career counselor should be able to tell you some.

Unfortunately, my school is behind on a lot of things. We dont have a career counselor and we dont have a Science Olympiad team. Sadly, the majority of the students at my school would not have much interest in joining such a science competition. Thanks for the advice though.

I live in chicago... Well Oak Park. I really liked their campus when i went there for summer programs. But then again the college is in a ghetto. Its surrounded by bad neighborhoods thats all dirty and stuff.
I think ima apply to CalTech Berkeley (Stanford) and UC or UIUC university of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
I wanna do engineering or something but like ones before me said : "Dunno which kind". UIUC is top 3 for engineering in the country tho. Prove me wrong
Yeah, but for Agricultural, Civil, Environmental, and Materials enginneering. Not the kinds I'm interested in, but hey, that's just me. We gotta have all kinds after all :D
