Jake Longoria Ms. Fels English 10 Period 2 16 February 2016 Expertise Compare and Contrast Paragraph Hawaiian Beaches: The two beaches I want to contrast are Polihale Beach on Kauai and Banzai Pipeline on Oahu. First of all, I am an expert on Hawaii because I have been there an abundance of times. I have been to every island and frequent Kauai and Oahu. Secondly, I feel I am a superb judge of beaches because I enjoy surfing and spending time at the beach when I am on the islands. I could easily compare the quality of the surf provided by both beaches. Third of all, these beaches in particular have very different landscapes. Having visited many beaches, I could compare something as precise as the feel of the sand.

The Giver Lois Lowry Houghton Mifflin Company Boston For all the children To whom we entrust the future The Giver 1 It was almost December, and Jonas was beginning to be frightened. No. Wrong word, Jonas thought. Frightened meant that deep, sickening feeling of something terrible about to happen. Frightened was the way he had felt a year ago when an unidentified aircraft had overflown the community twice. He had seen it both times. Squinting toward the sky, he had seen the sleek jet, almost a blur at its high speed, go past, and a second later heard the blast of sound that followed. Then one more time, a moment later, from the opposite direction, the same plane.
